Sustainable Living Festival 2014

PJT Green Plumbing attended the  Big Weekend event from February 14-16 at this years Sustainable Living Festival. The event was located at Federation Square in the heart of Melbourne.  Every year it continues to celebrate the very best examples of ecological and social sustainability. The event embraces interactive workshops, talks, demonstrations, artworks, exhibits, films and live performances.

The Sustainable Living Festival raises awareness and provides tools for change by showcasing leading solutions to the ecological and social challenges we face. The Sustainable Living Festival aims to inspire and empower everyday Australians to accelerate the uptake of sustainable living.

The Festival attracts over 150,000 visits annually and engages with hundreds of organisations and individuals to stage Australia’s largest and oldest sustainability festival.

Being the only Green Plumbers at this years festival, PJT Green Plumbing played a vital role informing festival goers of water saving solutions and how they can go about turning their household towards a more environmentally friendly future. As well as providing an interactive exhibit that enabled visitors to understand how rainwater tanks are connected to their house, the types of water pumps we use and our solar hot water systems.

Our friends Clean Up Our Water had an exhibit next door to us to help encourage visitors to become a volunteer and work towards cleaning up our waterways, bays rivers and creeks.  Their interactive stall provided visitors with the opportunity to get up close and personal with the Northern Pacific Seastars which allowed CUOW to educate the masses on the detrimental effects these pest have on our bay.

Together both PJT Green Plumbing and Clean Up Our Water informed many visitors of the importance on the ways in which we can look after our water and how each and everyone one of us can change the nature of our homes to a more greener future by choosing Environmental Plumbing Solutions.
